What does D.A.LIS mean?
Many, almost all, FMCG’ suppliers consider Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia or all together Baltic countries as one market area and wish to get own products available on pan-Baltic scale.
There are some ways how to make it happened in case of supply through wholesale distributors:
- to conclude pan-Baltic deal with one of few pan-Baltic distributors
- to appoint individual distributors for each market
Now there is available one more completely special approach - D.A.LIS.
DA.LIS is Distribution Alliance of 3 distribution companies – Leversa in Latvia, Interaltus in Estonia and Sakalas in Lithuania - established in 2015 November as informal union of independent companies.
All 3 companies represent some the same brands in their markets and share key values of distribution business philosophy.
How does it work
DaLIS = Leversa + Interaltus + Sakalas
Alliance members agree to recommend partners to all new suppliers making first contacts and interested to extend business beyond market of particular member.
Thus, being met first with Leversa and being interested to find access to Lithuanian and Estonian markets you get directed with warm advices to Sakalas and Interaltus respectively. The same story happenns in Vilinius and Tallinn.
However, reference doesn’t create any commitments. Each new business is the subject of particular agreement between supplier and each alliance member.
That fair market approach guarantees long-term sustainability for any new business cooperations.
